Musicians’ Hearing Health Seminar
For over 25 years, Musicians’ Hearing Services and Harley Street Hearing have been providing recommendations and advice to the entertainment industry. We’re well-equipped to talk to companies, groups, or cast members about the risks involved in exposure to high levels of loud sounds and offer industry-leading advice on the preservation of hearing across the music industry.
With unrivalled experience in this industry and a passion for protecting the hearing of musicians and entertainment industry personnel, our team of audiologists work closely with the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine and regularly supports members in West End theatre productions, the Royal Opera House, and the Musicians’ Union.
What our Hearing Health Seminar offers
Our interactive Hearing Health Seminar can be tailored to your preferred topics, but aim to provide an in-depth overview including:
– How the auditory system works and where the damage occurs.
– The Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2005) and how this relates to the industry.
– Risks associated with noise exposure.
– The difference between the perception of sound and measured sound pressure levels.
– The importance of hearing surveillance and using hearing protection.
– Best practice guidelines for hearing conservation.
Along with the Seminar, we can also offer hearing assessments in a quiet area on-site, and take impressions for custom-made hearing protection if required.
