on-site noise measurements

How do I know if our musicians need protection from noise?

If you are unsure of the noise levels that you or your employees are exposed to we can provide on-site noise measurements. This will help to determine your average and peak levels. Based on this information we can advise on methods of noise control and appropriate hearing protection

Why do I need to measure noise levels?

With new noise regulations now in place it is preferable to know what levels of noise your musicians are exposed to. Also, noise measurements will provide dose levels and help indicate the need for hearing protection. This will help put your mind at rest that employees who are at risk are properly protected.

How are noise level measurements carried out?

We will use specialist equipment to measure the overall level in different areas around the orchestra pit or stage. Dosimeters , which measure noise, will also be attached to individuals or placed in the highest noise areas to provide an idea of where the noise levels are at their highest and who is most at risk. We will also provide you with a full report including recommendations for noise reduction

How long will it take?

We can usually carry out these measurements over a couple of days, with minimal disruption to your routine.

For more information about noise measurements and noise doses please contact us and we will be pleased to discuss your requirements with you.
